It’s our 6 year anniversary today! We got married on the Northern coast of California just near the lovely town of Mendocino. It was a wonderful day… one of the best. This picture is with our singing vicar – he was incredible!
Sealed with a kiss and auspiciously beautiful weather that day ~ we felt the fates had blessed us since California weather is notoriously moody in February.
I do have to say that happiness is marrying your best friend, and is highly recommended. Here’s to the next six years!

Congratulations on your Anniversary Shellie! Have a wonderful day and best wishes for a fantastic year!
You looked beautiful on your wedding day and the setting was lovely!
Thanks Anna - they are good memories and motivation for me to loose those few extra pounds....
Linds - Just back from hiking.. very nice. I have been meaning to send you a note for some recommendations on vegan cookbooks.
Cheers Blodeuedd!
Thanks Amy! We got really lucky that day... but had back up plans just in case of rain.
Mendocino is really nice rain or shine though... highly recommended.
Happy Anniversary! How beautiful, to be married on the beach! Enjoy! :)
Congrats on 6 years! Your wedding dress is beautiful.
Happy anniversary! What a beautiful beach ceremony you had there. And I wish you many more wonderful years together.
Oh, congratulations, Shellie! Yours is the kind of wedding day I should "borrow" for one of my novels...LOL
Seriously, though, it seems like a plot from a romance story. Beaches, etc. You both look gorgeous!
The coast near Mendocino is lovely, and I also enjoy the idea of marrying one's best friend.

Can you believe it was deserted and warm too? We were so so luck! And it was very cheap - like free! lol...
Thanks Short Story Slore...
I got my dress at the used clothing store for 30 dollars... shhhh don't tell...lol
Thanks Simcha! We were blessed that day.. and I am not religious.

Yes please feel free to use the story... we did have a back up plan though in case of a storm. Inside the house we were staying had this fire place and windows with redwood trees....which would have been nice too!
Yes I think that is the only way one should get married - to one's best friend. I did wait until I was 41. lol... which tells you something.
Happy Anniversary!
Such a beautiful wedding. Wow such a wonderful price for a beautiful dress! =) Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
*Cheers* to many wonderful years to come.
Thank you Piink Poodle!
It was one of those lucky finds that dress. I had planned on limiting it to a few hundred dollars but found this and it fit perfectly.
I think I spent more dry cleaning it than its cost.
Welcome to Layers of Thought. I am a follower on your blog too!
I know I'm a little late but I wanted to say, Happy Anniversary!
Thanks Amanda!
We like to celebrate for the entire time between now and V-day. Any excuse to over indulge...lol.... so you are in fact not late at all *big smile*
This is so beautiful Shellie! At the beach and the colour of your dress, the whole setting and the whole setting is sooooooo.. beautiful!! I am happy for you! Here's to another 10 thousand years! Congratulations! :D
It is the tragic of my life in the past months. I'm always late.
Anyway HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY.
Six years is a long time in our fast living society. Sometimes I think my wife and I are dinosaurs. In May 2011 my wife and I will celebrate the 20th return of our wedding day ....
Thanks so much JoV -
You are very sweet. :)
I hope your new job is going well.
I was thinking white was inappropriate... considering my age and all...*wink*

We celebrate for a whole week so no belated wishes needed! That was sort of the plan. *big smile*
We have one more day to go.
20 years for you and your wife... Congrats considering I thought I would never get married, that's impressive. And if your dinosaurs I would say your rather hip ones...
Cheers Michael!
