I have been “graciously” tagged by the snickering Laurel – the author of several books that I would love to read and review, and a blogger with a bunch of blogs (an amazing 11 I think?) that you can follow – I will let you decide which. This is her comment that she left me to let me know I had been tagged:
Hey, Shellie, I apologize for tagging you! LOL
For Sassy Brit's "What's On Your Desk?" meme.
Check mine out on:
http://laurelrainsnowcreations.blogspot.com/
Note her apology? lol…now all Layers of Thought’s readers have the pleasure of seeing that Shellie has been banned to the dining room table because the working from home hubby has confiscated the desk next to the window.
These are the meme directions copied from Sassy Brits Blog Alternative-Reads.com - a very fun blog with a touch of girly spice and the old country. The meme badge below links directly to her site.
What's on your desk Wednesday? is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Sassy Brit of Alternative-Read.com . You don't have to be tagged to play, just join in when you fancy. Check her blog out each Wednesday for the post titled What's on your desk Wednesday?
You can do one of two things or both!
Grab a camera and take a photo of your desk! Or anywhere you stack your books/TBR pile. And no tidying! Add this photo to your blog.Tag at least 5 people! Come back here and leave a link back to your photo in comments. List at least 5 BOOKISH things on your desk (I'm thinking your TBR pile or books you haven't shelved...) List at least 5 NON BOOK things. (I'm thinking some of some of the more unusual items on your desk/table?) Tag at least 5 people to do the same. Come back here and leave your link, so we can come and visit your blog. Or add your answers in the comments if you don't have a blog.Feel free to grab the above picture to place on your site - as a way of showing you are participating, and of course to spread the word! Have fun!

Well that's just not fair because your desk is beautiful and mine's a flipping wreck!!
I will definitely participate. But once I've done a clean*, replaced a painting (it damn well fell and BROKE, the silly thing) and adjusted my wall-hanging :D
*Cleaning is sometimes done on a decade basis...

Hey at least I hid the gun - you've heard about us Arizonians right. ;)
Messy is great - that's part of the fun its supposed to be a mess. Crack us up. lol!
Wow, nice work area, mine has my laptop and magical objects (candles, earth, water, wind and fire sort of thing and my wand) but how to I add my pix here?
Fun idea.
Eva -
That sounds really cool - what a fun pic.
What you do is create a post on your blog, kinda like mine only with your special touches and then when your done copy and paste the special url link for that particular post on this comment thread and at Sassy Brits - her blog post is linked to the meme pic on my post - just click it.
If you have any more questions just let me know.
No pressure and have fun and if you post it next Wednesday or the next thats ok too.
Shellie, you lied! LOL. Your desk isn't messy at all, in fact it looks beautiful...even if it's the dining room table! You even have flowers!
This is so much fun, not because I like "humiliating" people into showing their "real work space," but because it kind of helps to view the bloggers at work.
Thanks for being such a good sport!

Thanks for the compliment. :)
It is messy for me.
Yes - it is fun and funny and enlightenting.
I truly needed a break from this very heavy book that I am reviewing right now. You noted I made fun of you lightly too.
Thanks for tagging me and next time its your turn. lol!
You should get a prize; very neat!
That sounds fair!
Diane -
This is messy, but I will take donations prizes what ever. ;)
Laurel -
I may even create a tag meme that is particularly evil. That may be fun.
But not today - perhaps when I'm not tired?
Thanks for the comments.
Laurel -
Perhaps we can work together in the creation of this one. Two heads are better than one.
When I was in my late 20's we figured out this game we called "creative cruelty" where we sat around trying to figure out what some of the funniest ways to be cruel where. lol. :)
I will put my thinking cap on!

I should have tagged you but I forgot you were moving. ;)
How cool is that? Your first giveaway. I will be right over to check it out.
Hey there, Shellie!
Thank you so much for playing along, I want to apologise for being so late in replying - I'm not sure what happened, I think it's the time zone difference :)
I'll be adding one of your great pictures to today's post, and pointing everyone to your site - as a way of thanks! And what a beautiful desk you have!
The World According to Twitter by David Pogue sounds fun! Hope you enjoyed it!

Yes the time difference can create a problem... and thank you. I did enjoy The World According to Twitter. I should have a review up this week. Its a great book if you want a bit of a laugh. Great to read in short sittings.
Thanks for responding. I thought perhaps you had gotten really busy? :)
